On the Nideck property, there's a blockhouse dating back to the Second World War. The owner’s girls used to play and camp there. Over time, the forest took its place. However, the Blockhaus remains an object of mystery and a protective element. The cabin leans against the Blockhaus as if to mimic the girls' attitude. The bed, the shelter's unique and central function, rests on the concrete block but hangs halfway into the void. Above and below, alcoves for nesting. Windows frame views of meadow grasses, tree trunks, foliage and clouds. The project is the result of simple tectonics: a structure made of three intersecting beams that create a geometric interplay and an envelope that shapes the interior space. Contrasting with the concrete, the cabin is made of wood and covered with red copper, which will take on a green patina and blend in with nature. A place of retreat, meditation, observation and intimacy. The cabin offers a peaceful architecture in motion.
