The project consists of a landscape intervention: recreating terraces that integrate into the site. Being situated high up and on a different side of the mountain, the views of the village are magnificent and the new terraces allow for more views. The project is an opportunity to provide new public spaces for the inhabitants: A sheltered but open theatre and a central square with a gentle slope. The spaces are flexible and can be used as a village community center for traditional celebrations, dinners or meetings drying crops etc. The villagers have preserved a know-how to make objects out of bamboo and wood. A local handicraft workshop is a place to work and to demonstrate to visitors. The objects made are then displayed and sold in the shop hosted in the building on the lower level. Many different routes are possible and spaces are semi outdoor. In addition, a vertical connection between the different levels has been designed in the ground, strategically linking the two existing buildings. The project is a construction between heaven and earth, both anchored in the ground and the mountain slope and open to the great landscape. The architecture is a new topography.
