Description
Biella, the heartland of Italy’s textile industry, owes its wool culture to the natural bounty of the Alpine foothills and the historical fabric of the Industrial Revolution. Cittadellarte, situated along the Cervo River, is a former 19th-century industrial building that once functioned as a textile mill. Embedded in Biella—a region renowned for its textile legacy—this space serves as the canvas for a project aimed at reviving the modern vitality of traditional textile culture through spatial storytelling.
Guided by the core concept of the "Third Paradise," the design seeks harmony between nature and artifice, history and future, technology and humanity. While preserving the original structures of the industrial site, it establishes a progressive experiential journey through the division of "Static" and "Dynamic" zones.
This initiative weaves together historical memory, craft experiences, and industrial innovation through space as a "weaving thread," offering a multidimensional practice that aspires to provide a tangible and participatory model for the cultural regeneration of industrial sites.
