Description
Many years ago, in support of the country's water conservancy efforts, the reservoir migrants in Beijing's Yanqing District left their homeland and embarked on a journey to resettle. In early 2023, the district government selected several reservoir migrant villages for environmental improvement projects, and Hujiaying Village was one of them. The village planned to build a suburban park on an abandoned pit filled with exposed yellow earth and construction waste. After nearly two years of careful refinement and seven versions of design proposals, the project was finally successfully realized. The once chaotic and abandoned “exposed pit of yellow earth” has transformed, through the designers’ clever planning, into a vibrant and picturesque "Suburban Ecological Park." This transformation is embodied in the theme of the project: "From Barren Land to Vitality: The Green Rebirth Journey of an Abandoned Pit." This place is not only a model of ecological restoration but also a powerful testament to the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature.
