Description
The construction site is divided into two adjacent plots—one large, one small—separated by a gap. While physically disconnected at ground level, people can stroll through the entire building via elevated walkways and interconnected rooftops. Drawing inspiration from the Tea-Horse Road and Silk Road that originated here, we ingeniously incorporated the infinity symbol "∞" as the initial blueprint for the architectural form. Through the creation of three-dimensional pedestrian pathways, the building's framework gradually took shape. Born and raised in the mountain forest, although the form of the building is so special and unique, we chose to customize the façade in the form of a timber frame building out of the consideration of the harmony of the overall environment. Inspired by traditional Chinese architectural elements—such as the iconic overhanging eaves and the craftsmanship of wooden structures—we continuously infused new creative details into the design. The naturally dynamic interplay between indoor and outdoor spaces, enhanced by Chinese aesthetic principles, further amplifies the building's vivid character and its profound connection to the local context.
