Description
According to the WHO's World Report on Hearing (2021), 1.5 billion people worldwide (20% of the population) experience hearing loss, a figure projected to reach 2.5 billion by 2050. As touch becomes a vital alternative to hearing, we developed TouchTune, a wearable device that converts sound into multi-frequency vibrations, enabling users to feel music's rhythm and frequency while enhancing social engagement and emotional connection.
The design pain points are as follows:
1. Limitations in Perceiving Sound: Cannot sense music's rhythm, frequency, or emotion.
2. Challenges in Social Participation: Isolation in music events, limited interaction.
3. Lack of Emotional Connection: Struggles to feel music's atmosphere, blocking resonance.
The design features are as follows:
1. Music-to-Vibration Module: Three modules simulate diverse music types.
2. Emotional Interaction and Sharing: Light and vibration share music experiences, enhancing interaction.
3. Personalized Music Experience: Record emotions and replay via the app.
