Yazhou Bay Cultural and Sports Center
The goal of this project is to create the "first city in the deep sea" by interpreting the theme of the deep sea in architectural scenes.
We envision the building as a three-dimensional 'deep sea slice'. Divide the space into three levels vertically: "sea surface", "seawater", and "seabed". Represent the sea surface with hollowed out wire mesh, and use the roofs of buildings as the seabed. Visitors can move around in it as if they are swimming in the deep sea.
The whole scene seems to freeze in time as it jumps out of the sea, from afar it looks like the waves are surging, and up close it looks like a leisurely stroll under the sea. The internal function of a building is no longer the subject of experience, the hazy scenes outside the building are the wonderful space to feel the atmosphere of the deep sea.
