Description
Edible Daegu: Permaculture Utopia
To counter Daegu’s unsustainable urbanization since the 1930s, this "Agritecture" proposes a self-sufficient ecosystem merging urban logistics and permaculture. The design reimagines the city by three strategies: 1.Sustainable City Logistics. A hybrid "nature-cargo cycle" replaces mechanical urban systems. Modular cells enable localized food autonomy, interconnected by eco-friendly transport networks for cross-cell exchange.
2.Urban Farmland Ecosystem.Excess spaces transform into 3D farms via ecological networks:Balcony Gardens: Family-scale cultivation using rainwater.Floating Greenhouses: Community farming hubs in interstitial spaces.Transfer Stations: Mediate resource exchange between individual/collective systems.BOH Recycling: Process organic waste into fertilizer.
3.Permaculture Architecture:Vertical Rainforest: Collective farming tower with spiral irrigation . St. Flora’s Cathedral: Seed archive with pneumatic membrane. Cubic Module: Multi-level market/vertical pasture hybrid.Compost Workshop: 12-week compost production system. These elements form a living civic network reviving city through circular food production and spatial democracy.
