Description
In 2018, studioMilou Singapore won an international competition to transform the Danang Museum into a world-class cultural institution. The project involved relocating the Museum to the former French colonial City Hall buildings, a historic ensemble overlooking the Han River.
The newly completed Danang Museum officially opened on 29 March 2025. The design reveals a sensitive and elegant adaptive reuse of the existing structures, preserving key architectural features while introducing contemporary elements. At the heart of the new Museum is a serene inner courtyard, surrounded by an airy façade inspired by woven rattan. This central atrium serves as a venue for public programmes and houses a dedicated learning centre for children, offering a welcoming, multi-purpose space for all visitors.
