Leendert Tange
Creative Partner / Storage-Group
Twenty years ago Leendert joined the Nike team to help create the European Niketown experience. After he co-founded the agency Storeage, designing spatial experiences for retail, hospitality and office. He has worked with industry giants like Adidas, Converse and Timberland, as well as with boutique clients, like the nightclub le Baron, the water innovator Air-Up and jewelry retailer Karma&Luck. He set up the Storeage offices in the US and Asia, and currently resides in Los Angeles, although projects bring him everywhere. Storeage is recognized as one of the best retail and brand design agencies in Europe and the US, has won numerous awards, most recent for their Adidas façade and their work has been featured in Frame magazine, Elle Decoration, Arch Digest and the Wallpaper city guides. Leendert believes space should energise people and design is the frequency to transmit that energy. To do so he has explored the use of digital interaction, innovative materials, color, light, sound and motion, as an integral part of architecture. Mixing his training as Industrial Designer and his experience as Spatial Designer, he lectured the course Retail Architecture at the Delft Faculty of Architecture, is a recurring visiting critic at the Pasadena Art Center and, prior to his move, served on the board of the Dutch Design Association (BNO).
